The fact that there is less than 7 percent of teachers that are black really shocks me. Even though Peters earned the highest possible rating on her evaluation in her first few years teaching, she is now being evaluated as not capable of teaching. This is ridiculous to me. With the requirements being raised higher and higher it makes it harder on all minorities to enter the profession. Much like the article points out, diversity is extremely needed on a schools teaching staff.
